  1. Create a list of Careers and/or colleges that you are interested in applying to.

  2. Talk 1-on-1 with your College and Career Counselor.

September

  1. Complete/update your resume through https://careercoachdcx.emsicc.com

  2. Research whether your career education programs accept financial aid through FAFSA.

  3. Apply to at least 1 job/internship/career opportunity every month. Send proof of your job application completion to Tiana.Ottley@k12.dc.gov.

  4. Apply to 1 SAFETY or SMART college every month (Sept - Dec). You can do this easily by completing the www.CommonBlackCollegeapp.com

  5. Send your College and Career Counselor a list of the back-up colleges you are applying to.

  6. Attend Career Workshops, Career Info Sessions and 1-on-1 sessions with your College and Career Counselor
