Career Bridge Internships

SYIP Application - must be completed to receive payment for a school year internship.

Career Bridge Bitmoji Classroom (2021-2022)

The DCPS Career Bridge Program provides the opportunity for DCPS seniors seeking apprenticeship, career education, military, employment, and 2-year pathways to participate in professional skill building and internship opportunities, so students, ultimately, secure a post-secondary plan.


Fall REQUIREMENTS: Must attend at least the following 4 sessions outlined below.

  • Watch Intro Video (below) or attend Intro Information Session

  • Resume Workshop

  • Professional Communication Pt. 1

  • Professional Communication Part 2

  • Mock Interview

  • Interview Day

By completing these workshops, Career Bridge students also agree to complete a career portfolio which includes the following:

  • Updated Resume

  • Proof of Job Applications

  • Interview

  • Linked In Profile

Must complete these workshops to move forward and receive the $100 Stipend.


Spring Internship

  • Paid Internship - $900 - $1,000 total stipend for completing internship

  • 8 weeks

  • March - May

  • Pay: $12/hour

  • Hours

    • Early Release Eligible

    • 4pm - 7pm - is typical internship schedule

    • Virtual time was 3:30pm - 6:30pm

    • Sites sets days of the week

      • Last year: Tuesday - Thursday

  • Opportunity to interview with company after graduation.


Internship Options:

  • IT (example: working at a help desk to fix computers or to develop mobile apps and websites)

  • Pre-Apprenticeship (Construction Trades)

  • Healthcare

  • Early Childcare Education

  • Pepco/Energy

  • Human Resource/Customer Service/Hospitality
