1. DCPS Persists: Persists is still accepting applications for students planning to go to college- https://www.tfaforms.com/5039782

Step 3: Call the front office of your high school and request copies of your final transcripts. 

Step 4: Mail your final transcripts to the colleges you have applied to. 

Step 5: Complete the FAFSA Application

Step 6: Complete the DCTAG Application

Step 7: Review financial Aid Award Letters. Compare financial aid award letters to each other using the DCPS Financial Aid Award Letter Calculator if you are a DC Resident or uAspire's College Cost Calculator. 

Step 8: Select the college that you want to attend. Read through your acceptance letter or email and any documents they sent you. Also read through their website. Contact their admissions and registrar's office. Pay Enrollment fee and Housing Deposit by the deadline. Schools typically communicate through email or through your student portal given to you by the university. Make sure you are checking both regularly.

  • • American Job Center (DOES): AJC has brought on 4 youth-specific coaches to provide students with professional development, career coaching, financial literacy education, and connection to various career education, apprenticeship, and employment opportunities through DOES and more. 

      • • Students can walk into the DOES Headquarters AJC (4058 Minnesota Ave. NE) to get started 

        • For virtual coaching students need to register on DC Networks- see attached flyers. 

  • Jubilee Jobs: Jubilee Jobs offers professional development and job placement support. Please see the attached flyer for the process
